Cows die of hoof disease in Mutupi

 Chin State Locals said that there is an outbreak of foot-and-mouth disease in Mutupi Township, and many animals are infected.


Since the end of August, there has been an outbreak of foot-and-mouth disease among cattle in Mutupi town and nearby villages, and more than 30 animals have died because there is no veterinarian to treat them.


Cows can't eat if they have hoof disease. Most of them are buried in the ground because they can't walk anymore and die of emaciation.


A local resident said, "They are the most frequent near the end of the rainy season. It occurs mostly in villages near the city. There is no veterinarian near the village. The doctor in town is also afraid of the army, so he dares not go and call him," he said.


Another 4-year-old cow in Mutupi Township is worth more than 1500,000 Kyats.


Before the buffalo cow hooves for the backs of cows, The government provides free vaccination against tongue disease. Mutupi local residents said that although the owner paid for the vaccinations, the cows were not vaccinated after the coup d'état.
