3 Myanmar nationals living illegally in Mae Sot were arrested

Thailand Turk District The Turk District Immigration Department announced that 3 Myanmar nationals living illegally in Mae Sot were arrested on October 19.


At 8:30 a.m. on October 19th, Turk District Immigration Officers and the No. 9 Infantry Unit conducted a planned search of places where illegal foreigners are located in Mae Sot and arrested 2 Myanmar nationals living illegally in No. 2 Tha Phoe Village.


At 3:30 p.m., Inspector Police Colonel Thaninon and investigative officers from Lawa, Turk District arrested a 37-year-old Burmese woman who had overstayed her residence permit for 1,297 days.


Out of the 3 arrested, 2 Myanmar nationals living illegally are being taken to Turkish immigration for investigation, and the Burmese woman, who has overstayed her residence permit, is being taken to Mae Sot Police Station for investigation.


More than 60 Myanmar nationals have been arrested in the month since the Turk District Immigration Department announced in September that it will arrest foreigners living in Mae Sot without permission and foreigners who are sneaking in under the scheme.
