Some ethnic armed leaders arrived in Nay Pyi Taw to attend the NCA's eighth anniversary



Tomorrow, October 15th, the eight-year anniversary of the signing of the NCA will be held by the military council in Nay Pyi Taw.


Former KNU chairman Saw Mu Tu Sai Po arrived in Nay Pyi Taw for the second time as the leader of the Karen ethnic group. Rakhine State Liberation Party ALP U Khaing Soe Nyeang and All Myanmar Student Democratic Front ABSDF Comrade Myo Win also arrived yesterday.


According to today's newspaper reports, these four individuals who signed the NCA themselves attended as ethnic armed leaders, not as representatives of the organization.


KNU, which signed the NCA The ABSDF and the Chin National Front (CNF) announced 5 common political goals, including removing the military coup and ending the involvement of the military in politics.


However, Chairman of Shan State Rehabilitation Council RCSS, General Yew Sis, Lahu Democratic Union (LDU) Chairman Kya Solomon has already arrived in Nay Pyi Taw.


Colonel Saw Kyaw Nyunt told the BBC that the KNU/KNLA PC, one of the ethnic armed groups, will also attend the event.


"We haven't arrived yet. We know that the people who signed the NCA and other groups at that time will attend. We don't know the details of whether Mr. Sasakawa will attend or who they are," said Colonel Saw Kyaw Nyunt.


Once Cambodia's former Prime Minister Hun Sen and Japan's Nippon Foundation Chairman Sasakawa have agreed to go to Myanmar together. The reason is not disclosed in detail.


In addition to this, there are reports that China's special representative, Mr. Teng Shui Kwin, will also attend.
